The best time to use this mode is when you are driving through stop & go traffic. The Highlander Hybrid’s EPA rating is 27 miles per gallon on the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. The city rating of the Highlander Hybrid outperforms the highway rating because this vehicle uses its electric propulsion more frequently when it travels at lower speeds.

Regardless of the fact that the Highlander Hybrid is a 4-wheel drive; it is not suitable for harsh weather or road conditions. Generally, this vehicle operates in the front drive mode and its configuration is far different from the all wheel drive model of the non hybrid Toyota Highlander that provides more power to the rear wheels. If you are seeking a vehicle for your family or for touring or commuting purposes the Highlander Hybrid will meet your needs, but if you are looking out for a heavy duty utility truck that can circumvent demanding terrain or climates, you should check out another vehicle. The quality of Toyota is visible both outside and inside the Highlander Hybrid. If you have a large family you might consider spacious alternatives like minivans or larger crossovers. However, if you are an economically minded consumer and are on the lookout for a family car, this fuel efficient Toyota Highlander Hybrid is your best bet!
